Design Overview
The Seattle Barber’s Association reached out looking for a full brand identity — something sharp, professional, and proudly tied to the city of Seattle. They had ideas, but needed someone to bring it all together. I jumped in as the sole designer, working directly with the owner and a marketing team member to help shape the brand from the ground up.
Process & Results
One of the main goals was to incorporate the Space Needle into the logomark—but in a way that didn’t feel like every other Seattle brand out there. I explored a few different directions before landing on something that hints at the iconic shape in a clean, understated way. It feels modern, slightly bold, and flexible enough to work across different uses.
For colors, the client wanted a palette inspired by classic barbershop poles—red and blue as the primaries, with white and black playing supporting roles. I used them based on context to keep things balanced and visually strong.
The timeline was tight—just a month—so I focused on keeping things efficient and collaborative, with regular check-ins to stay aligned. I built out the full identity system in Illustrator and Photoshop, and delivered a set of print-ready materials, including business cards and signage concepts.
